Helen Fitzgerald Inducted into Zion Football League Hall of Fame

ZFL Superstar Helen Fitzgerald was inducted into the Zion Football League's Hall of Fame at halftime of Birthday Bowl XXIX held on January 29, 2006. A high rolling player in the ZFL since 1986, Helen, along with her husband Tony Natalie, has hosted numerous ZFL tournaments at their Dixie Downs home in St. George, Utah.

As coach of the Menacin' Mynx, Helen has ripped up ZFL fields through the years with her ability to roll high dice and her unusual play calling. Helen is only the 11th ZFL Player to be inducted in the Zion Football League Hall of Fame, and the 1st since 2002.

Stoners roll to Southern Utah XIII Title

Tony Iverson's Stoners climbed higher into the Zion Football League Record Book, winning his 9th ZFL tourmanent, by rolling past Tim Spendlove's Heat 44-16 in the Southern Utah XIII championship game held on February 12, 2006. The Stoners won close games in this ZFL tournament against Mike Large's Posse and Helen Fitzgerald's Mynx, before turning it up against the Heat. By winning his 9th ZFL Championship, Tony is now tied for 4th place in ZFL history for most tournaments won. His Stoners have also won 8 straight ZFL tournament games.

Helen and Tony again hosted the Southern Utah Championship Tournament in their Dixie Downs home for the 5th straight year. The tournament featured lots of upsets, close games, good food, and Dixie sunshine.

Gold Miners win Birthday Bowl 31-21 over Posse

Jim Cantrell's Gold Miners won Birthday Bowl XXIX 31-21 over Mike Large's Posse in Zion National Park on January 29, 2006. Mike's Posse was electricifying early in the game, scoring on a 100 yard TD kick return and a 44 yard TD interception return. Trailing 14-7 in the 4th quarter, Jim continued to do what he does best, leading his Gold Miners to 2 long scoring drives to beat the Posse in front of a packed house at Posse Pavilion.

Then the Zion Football League is what you've been looking for. This exciting board football game was orginally created in Salt Lake City in 1976 and has spread throughout Utah and beyond. Rolling dice, playing defense and calling offensive plays make every ZFL game an exciting and ever changing party time experience.

In 2000, the ZFL added a Canadian Football rules version of the armchair football game, adding to the options of which brand of North American football you want to play.

An average of 7 ZFL Tournaments are held every year throughout Southern Utah. ZFL exhibition games have also been played in Salt Lake, Roy, Torrey and Richfield, Utah, as well as Mesquite, Nevada in recent years.
