Posse Survives Three TD Returns By Kaibab Mountain Cows, Captures Riffian Invitational #28!

(Zion National Park, Utah)_In the largest Riffian Invitational tournament ever held, Mike's Posse edged Justin's Kaibab Mountain Cows 35-31 in the championship game held on October 12th. Seventeen teams participated in this year's Riffian Invitational, only the second 17 team tourney in the 32 year history of the Zion Football League. The only other ZFL tournament to reach 17 teams was last December's Holiday Bowl, held at Beau & O's Fisherville Dixie home. Three other Riffian Invitationals hosted 16 teams (84, 88, 89).

The Posse and Kaibab Mountain Cows put on a great game in the title contest. The game was a back and forth affair as the K-Mt-Cows refused to die. The Kaibab Special Teams were especially effective, returning two Posse kick-offs for touchdowns. Following a 95 yard TD kick return by the Kaibab Mountain Cows, the Posse drove for a 12 TD double reverse in the middle of the fourth quarter to seal the win. This Riffian Invitational Crown is Mike's 29th Zion Football League Championship.
