Zion Football League Scouts High Scoring Arena Football in West Valley City!

When the Utah Blaze hosted the Jacksonville Sharks in Arena Football League action at the Maverick Center on July 9th, it provided a rare meeting of two great football leagues. Led by ZFL Commissioner Mike Large, a small ZFL delegation featuring Salt Lake Eagles Coach Giovanni Cecala, his amazing daughter Sophia, and Ghostrider Coach Barb Kippen enjoyed a fun evening of high scoring indoor football in traffic-congested West Valley City.

The Sharks led the Blaze 40-14 at halftime and then hung on as Utah's very own exciting arena team blazed back and barely lost in the last minute 67-55.

During the game SLC veteran Giovanni roved the Maverick Center sideline and was instrumental in arranging a meeting between ZFL Commissioner Mike Large and Arena Football League Superstar Aaron Garcia. As quarterback in the Arena Football League for 13 seasons, QB Aaron Garcia has rewritten professional football record books with his passing prowess in the high-scoring arena indoor game.

Nate's Lost Boyz Capture First ZFL Crown, Crush Beau's Cowboys 55-20 in Patriot Bowl VI Championship!

(Hurricane, Utah)_Nate Bowman's Lost Boyz found their first Zion Football League Championship by claiming Patriot Bowl VI with a resounding 55-20 victory over Beau's Cowboys in the Patriot Bowl title contest held on July 4th, 2010. The Lost Boyz rolled over the Patriot Bowl defeating Shawn's Assassins (24-21), Tony's Stoners (37-14), Jim's Gold Miners (27-21), in addition to crushing the Cowboys. Playing a most excellent defense, the Lost Boyz only allowed 6 touchdowns in their four games, giving up a very low average of 19.7 points per contest.

The Spendlove Family, led by Doug and Kathy, provided a patriotic party that was full of fun, great food, and good times. The Patriot Bowl has through the years evolved into a summer time classic that has crowned six different champions in it's spectacular six year existence.

The Lost Boyz defense ran back two interceptions for touchdowns in their title takedown of Beau's resurgent Cowboys….In the semi-finals, Nate's Lost Boyz led 27-7 late in the third quarter, then survived a Gold Miner rally to win 27-21…In the other semi-final, the Cowboys led Preston's Blue Devils 42-18 late in the third quarter, the hung on like a sailor in a tempest as the Blue Devils roared back only to lose 49-46…A 78 yard TD punt return lifted the Gold Miners over Mike's struggling Posse 31-30 in quarter-final action…In a ZFL tournament full of blown big leads, Tim's Hurricane Heat blazed back from a 41-14 deficit and yet fell short 41-31 to the Blue Devils… Shawn's Assassins shut down the Lost Boyz 7-0 in the second half of their first round game, but lost 24-21…
