Tony's Stoners Busted 35-32 in Southern Utah Classic V at Kolob Reservoir By Mike's Powerful Posse!

(Kolob Reservoir, Utah)_Continuing to roll through the Zion Football League 2011 schedule, Mike's Posse lassoed their third championship of the year as they captured the Southern Utah Classic V, held at Kolob Reservoir, on August 21. The Posse ride to ZFL glory didn't come easy as Tony's Stoners battled hard in a 35-32 title tilt that wasn't decided until the last play. Beau's Cowboys also rode hard against the Posse, yet lost in a 37-34 triple overtime thriller in semi-final action. With the Southern Utah Classic V title in hand, Mike has now won 34 ZFL Tournaments.

Superstar Doug and his junior rangers Beau, Mark and Laurie did some great work behind the scenes to help create a great ZFL outdoor festivus.

The lead changed hands seven times in the championship game between the Posse and Stoners …The Posse scored a three yard TD Halfback Pass on the final play of regulation to force that 37-34 triple overtime treat over the Cowboys…Trailing Tim's Heat 28-17 at the end of the 3rd quarter of their semi-final game, Tony's Stoners cooled the Heat 21-0 in the 4th quarter to score a 38-28 victory…Brenda's Bratz fought hard in her second ZFL tourney appearance, playing great defense, yet but lost a 21-14 family feud against brother Tony's Stoners…In another family fight, Preston's Blue Devils and Tim's Heat displayed brotherly love and great defense in a 21-14 opening round Heat win…Jim's Gold Miners have now lost six straight Zion Football League tournament games…

Kolob Reservoir Set to Host Southern Utah Classic V in the Scenic High Country

(Kolob Terrace, Utah)The Zion Football League is happy to announce that Southern Utah Classic V will be held high on the Kolob Terrace on Sunday August 21, 2011. For the second time in ZFL history, Hall of Famer Doug Spendlove will coordinate the only ZFL tournament to be held above 8,000 feet in elevation. The wild ZFL weekend will kick off Saturday night with a country dutch oven cookout that will be led by master chef Doug's dutch oven delight. Doug will also provide a Sunday morning brunch and ZFL fans are asked to bring their best food to add to the Kolob feasts. Sunday's tournament action will kick-off at 10 am. Camping support will be provided by coach Spendlove and his Junior Ranger sidekick Beau.
