Posse and Heat seek Harvest Bowl Crown to claim inside track as ZFL's 2011 Best Team!

(Hurricane, Utah)_The Zion Football League is proud to announce that the ninth annual Harvest Bowl will take place on Sunday, November 6th, at warm and friendly Spendlove Place. Kathie and Doug will provide a healthy feast of vegetable chili and homemade breadsticks to kick off a delicious ZFL buffet. Fans are asked to bring all and any food and party favorites. The Harvest Bowl activities will kick-off promptly at 10:30 a.m.

Mike's Posse and Tim's Hurricane Heat are in a two-team race for the best record, and title, as the best ZFL team in 2011. The Posse has won three ZFL tourneys this year while the Heat have claimed two tournament titles.

Giovanni's Eagles Flying South, Set to Make Debut in Harvest Bowl IX!

(Hurricane, Utah)_The Zion Football League is happy to announce that beloved ZFL Hall of Fame Coach Giovanni and his football team,the Eagles, will be migrating to cool and scenic southern Utah in early November. Giovanni is permanently moving south to start a new career as well as to be close to his beautiful daughter Sophia, who lives in nearby Cedar City.

Gio and his Eagles have been a major part of the ZFL since 1984. Giovanni has won 5 ZFL Crowns and currently ranks 12th in all-time ZFL tourneys won. The Eagle coach was inducted into the Zion Football League Hall of Fame in 2009 and is also one hell of a cook, scorekeeper and bouncer.

Heat Throttles Blue Devils 56-28 in Riffian Invitational XXXI Title Tilt and Captures 6th ZFL Crown!

(Zion National Park, Utah) The Riffian Invitational continues to showcase the best of the Zion Football League. That tradition of excellence was proudly on display on September 25 when Tim Spendlove's Hurricane Heat continued to rise in the ZFL Record Book as his Hurricane Heat captured the prestigous Riffian Invitational XXXI. That ZFL Crown gives Tim his sixth tourney title and rises his Heat from 13th to 9th place in all-time ZFL championships.

Mike's green chili and Spanish rice highlighted an excellent buffet for the ZFL masses, who enjoyed a beautiful day in Zion National Park.

Tim's Heat tossed 5 TD passes in their 56-28 championship game victory over the Blue Devils…Preston's Blue Devils shut down the Parowan offense picking off 6 passes in a 25-13 semi-final win…Jim's Gold Miners rolled for 3 TD kick-off returns in their 50-31 semi-final loss to the Heat…Mike's Posse had a 96 yard TD punt return wiped out by a penalty in their 38-35 upset loss to Parowan in the quarter-finals…John's Nighthawks missed on a 2-point conversion try with 3 plays left and lost 8-6 to the Heat in quarter-final play…In the opening round Beau's Cowboys were sacked for a Safety late in their 37-35 loss to the Heat…Tony's Air Nat coughed up 8 turnovers in their 45-10 opening round loss to Doug's Parawon Rams…Mike's league leading Posse are only 1 win and 2 losses in 2011 ZFL tournaments games played in Zion National Park…
