Tony Captures 14th ZFL Championship as His Stoners Rout Beau's Cowboys in Southern Utah Championship XIX!

(St. George, Utah)_Rolling over three tough ZFL opponents, coach Tony and his Stoners captured their fourteenth Zion Football League tournament crown as they won the nineteenth annual Southern Utah Championship, held at Helen's scenic Dixie Downs home on February 12th.

Enroute to the title tilt the Stoners pumped Doug's Parowan 35-24 in quarter-final action before winning an epic 24-17 semi-final battle over Giovanni's Eagles. In the championship game, Tony rolled for nine touchdowns and led 56-20 early in the fourth quarter before Beau's Cowboys were able to score a couple of touchdowns to make the final score a little closer.

Tony and Helen were gracious hosts and provided a warm and friendly setting for the Southern Utah Championship for the eleventh straight year.

The Stoners survived three fourth quarter fumbles in their exciting 24-17 semi-final win over the Eagles…Trailing 28-17 at halftime of their semi-final game to John's Nighthawks, Beau's Cowboys took control in the second half, outscoring the Nighties 27-0, and claimed a 44-28 victory…Giovanni's Eagles trailed Helen's Mynx 38-7 at halftime, then rolled for 45 second half points to rally past the Mynx 52-41 in quarter-final action…The Heat were shocked in the quarter-finals as the Nighthawks scored on their final three possessions to capture a 51-37 upset…

Southern Utah Championship XIX To Be Decided at Dixie Downs on February 12th!

(St. George, Utah)_The Zion Football League is happy to announce that the nineteenth Annual Southern Utah Championship will be held on Sunday February 12th at Helen and Tony's artsy Dixie Downs home. Helen's cooking will highlight a delicious ZFL buffet. Helen will provide a feast of black beans and spanish rice to kick-off the food fest.

Last year's Southern Utah tourney drew a field of 9 teams. Another big crowd is expected to drop in on Dixie Downs for exciting Zion Football League action. Pre-game activities will kick off at 10 am. Please contact Helen 24/7 for more tourney information.

Mike's Posse won the 18th Southern Utah Championship last year with a hard fought 24-21 squeaker over John's Nighthawks in the championship game. The Posse are still riding

hard following their stunning 54-31 romp over the Zion Football League All Stars in last January's Birthday Bowl XXXV.
