2012 ZFL Glory Up for Grabs as Historic Harvest Bowl X Kicks-offs Holiday Season!

(Hurricane, Utah)_As the Zion Football League enters the exciting holiday season, the tenth annual Harvest Bowl will take place on November 4th at fan friendly Spendlove Place. Your hosts Kathy and Doug will open their warm home and provide a feast of traditional turkey and dressing. ZFL fans are asked to bring holiday side dishes including yams, cranberry sauce, salads, deserts and other turkey trippin' treats. Harvest Bowl pre-game activities will kick at 10 am.

Stoners Pound Posse 40-35 and Capture Riffian Invitational Third Place Game!

(Zion National Park, Utah)_Looking to stay alive in their hunt as 2012's best ZFL team, Tony's Stoners parlayed two touchdown kick-off returns to elude Mike's Posse 40-35 in the Third Place Game of the prestigious 32nd Riffian Invitational. Held inside beautiful Zion Park on October 13th, the Stoner victory secured their second Third Place tournament win of 2012 and put the Stoners in undisputed third place in the 2012 ZFL standings.

Mike's Posse opened the game with a fifteen play drive that was topped off with a 6 yard TD Short Pass and a 7-0 lead. The Stoners rolled some hot dice to take a 26-22 lead at halftime. After a scoreless third quarter, the Stoners blocked a Posse punt and scored on the next play on a 5 yd TD Halfback Pass to grab a 33-22 fourth quarter lead. The Posse responded with another touchdown march before Tony rolled yet another TD kick-off return and a 40-28 4th quarter
lead and what proved to be the winning points.

The Stoners quest for ZFL glory will continue at the 10th annual Harvest Bowl, which will be held on Sunday November 4th at Spendlove Place in Hurricane.

Single Rouge in CFL Overtime Lifts Tony's Tweakers To 46-45 Victory Over Mike's Streaking Stallions!

(Zion National Park, Utah)_Even though Tony's Toronto Tweakers shanked a 28 yard field goal attempt on the last play of overtime, that missed kick did go through and out of the ZFL Canadian endzone to score a single point, or rouge, which was enough to secure a wild 46-45 CFL exhibition Toronto Tweaker victory over Mike's Stallions on October 13th at Stallion Stadium.

The Molson Cup Champion Stallions saw their CFL six game winning streak come to frustrating stop as they were unable to run back the missed field goal attempt as time expired. The Stallions had rallied to score on a 5 yard TD QB Option Run with two plays left in regulation to tie the game at 45-45. In overtime the Stallions drove quickly down field before tossing a interception in the end zone. The Tweaks then drove to the winning point.

Blue Devils Capture Riffian Invitational XXXII and Push ZFL Into Holiday Sprint to Glory!

(Zion National Park, Utah)_In a classic championship game that showcased
two of the league's finest teams, Preston's Blue Devils won a hard-fought
defensive battle to edge Jim's Gold Miners 24-21 and capture the 32nd Riffian Invitational. The Blue Devils kicked a 16 yard Field Goal with twelve plays left in the third quarter to put up what proved to be the winning points between these ZFL Titans.

Held at Mike's cabin in scenic Oak Creek Canyon, this year's Riffian Invitational once again showcased the best of the Zion Football League.
Great games and good food abounded in the canyons of Zion as the 2012 standings were tightened up.

Coach Preston won his second Riffian Invitational Crown and his third ZFL title… The Gold Miners used a 63 yard TD Option Sweep to pull away from Mike's Posse in semi-final action…In the other semi-final the Blue Devil's awesome offense controlled the ball for 26 plays in the fourth quarter to sober up Tony's
Stoners 38-24…The Stoners scored on a 100 yard TD Kick Return in that loss…Mike's Posse threw a 42 yard TD Long Pass with five plays left in quarter-final regulation time to tie Beau's Cowboys 24-24…The Posse then rode to a thrilling 34-31 double overtime win…The Gold Miners ran in a 9 yard TD Double Reverse in overtime to cool Tim's Heat 30-27 in the quarter-finals…Travis' Tigers rushed for seven touchdowns in their 64-41 pounding of Doug's Parowan…Playing in his first ZFL game since 1987 Bill's Cougars almost derailed the glory-bound Blue Devils, barely losing 23-28 in their opening round game…
