Stoners Win Riffian Invitational #26 in Zion National Park


ZFL Superpowers Stoners and Gold Miners square off the the
Championship Game of Riffian Invitational XXVI in Zion National Park.


(Zion National Park)_Coach Tony Iverson and his Stoners won the prestigious Riffian Invitational tournament on Saturday 9, 2006 at Mike's cabin inside Zion National Park, edging Jim Cantrell's Gold Miners 31-28 in the championship game. By winning his 10th ZFL Tournament Championship, Coach Iverson joins lengendary ZFL Coach Kirk Gifford in 3rd place in league history with the most tournament crowns.

Six out of the seven games played in this year's Riffian Invitational tournament were decided by 7 points or less, showcasing the overall balance found in the Zion Football League in 2006. Making their ZFL debut was Coach Beau Fisher and his Cowboys, who led the Helen Fitzgerald's Mynx 24-21 in the fourth quarter in quarter-final action, before losing to the ZFL Hall of Famer 31-24.
