Canadian Football Returns to Zion National Park!

(Zion National Park, Utah)_The Zion Football League is proud to announce that for the seventh straight year, Canadian Football - armchair style- will be celebrated with the annual commencement of the Molson Cup tournament at Mike's cabin inside majestic Zion National Park on Monday, June 2nd. Although an average of eight ZFL tournaments are played every year the Molson Cup is the only Canadian Football Rules tournament.
Thanks to the efforts of the Spendlove Erection Company of Hurricane, this year's Molson Cup will showcase three CFL regulation fields, allowing for the first time, multiple games, in the league's only CFL tournament. Although held on a Monday, a tough day for folks to get a day off, this CFL tourney extends it's arms to any potential expansion teams who might want to experience the rush of Canadian armchair football. Activities kick off at 11 am at Mike's cabin inside Zion National Park. Mike will offer up a buffet of green chili, spanish rice, tortillas, and soft drinks in addition to extra treats provided by Helen and Doug, among others.

Justin Hodge's Kaibab Mountain Cows claim Zion Bowl XXIV with 24-17 win over Mike Large's Posse!

(Hurricane, Utah)_Justin Hodge and his Kaibab Mountain Cow football team stampeded through one of the largest Zion Bowl tournaments ever held on Sunday April 27, 2008 at Spendlove Place. The K-Cows swept past two ZFL veterans with wins over Helen's Mynx (41-25), and Preston Bowling's Blue Devils (41-21) in the opening round. Then the Kaibab Mountain Cows corraled Kathie's Madame K(35-34) in the semi-finals. Rumbling into the Zion Bowl championship game, Justin's Kaibab Cows faced Mike's powerful Posse, who had also won three tourney games.
The K-Cows and the Posse fought to a 17-17 half-time tie. The second half proved to be a defensive classic with the Kaibab Mt.Cows 9 yard option sweep touchdown providing the only points in a 24-17 Zion Bowl championship victory. The Spendlove Family were once again outstanding hosts, providing great food, friendship and fun while opening their home to the Zion Bowl for the fourth time.
