Harvest Bowl VII Hits Hurricane on November 22!

(Zion National Park, Utah)The Zion Football League is happy to announce that the seventh annual Harvest Bowl will take place on Sunday, November 22 at the ZFL's most loved venue, Spendlove Place. Activities begin at 10 am. Kathy and Doug will provide a tasty spaghetti feast and are asking ZFL fans to bring treats that will compliment the Italian theme buffet. Any harvest inquires may be addressed by calling the Harvest Hump Hotline at 619-4981. Ask for little Dougie.
The Harvest Bowl has become an annual autumn gathering since it first premiered in 2002. Kathy and Doug have hosted many ZFL gatherings yet the exciting, welcoming, and warm Harvest Bowl has grown these past six years into a true Zion Football League Classic.

Harvest Bowl Notes
Last year's 16 team Harvest Bowl was captured by Tony's Stoners who won tough games over Doug's Parowan (24-7), Kathy's Madame K (34-21), Giovanni's Eagles (43-38), and Tim's Heat 41-32...The only Zion Football League tournament ever won by Beau Fisher's Cowboys was Harvest Bowl IV in 2006...Doug's Parowan Falcons won 2004's Harvest Bowl II with a 35-14 romp over Tony's Stoners in the championship game...In 2005 Preston's Blue Devils roared into the Harvest Bowl III championship contest and got smoked by Tony's ZFL Hall of fame Stoners 28-14...

Preston's Canadian Pimp Wagon rolls to 35-33 win over Mike's CFL Stallions in Zion Park!

(Zion National Park, Utah) Playing in his first ever CFL armchair football game, ZFL veteran Preston rolled into Zion National Park on November 14 and led his CFL expansion team, the Canadian Pimp Wagon, to a stunning 35-33 win over Mike's mighty Stallions. The Pimp Wagon trailed 26-7 at halftime and 26-14 at the end of the 3rd quarter as the Stallions settled for 4 field goals deep in Pimp country. In the final period the suddenly hot Pimp Wagon scored on all three their possessions, including a 14 yard TD strike on the last play of the game to hand Mike Large's two timin' Molson Cup Champion Stallions only their sixth loss in all of 2009, against fifteen wins.

After the game the Zion Football League announced that a new CFL holiday tournament will be held at Mike's cabin in Zion National Park in December or early January. Known as the Zion Cup, this CFL holiday treat will become the Zion Football League's second annual Canadian rules tournament.

CFL Stallions Clip Chips 68-61 in Double Overtime at Stallion Stadium in Zion National Park!

(Zion National Park, Utah)Recovering a Chippewa fumble with two plays left in regulation time for a TD proved to be the hit that led Mike's Stallions to a high scoring 68-61 victory over Barb's relentless Chippewa in a CFL exhibition game held at scenic Stallion Stadium on November 3rd. With the fumble recovery the Stallions tied up the game at 54-54 and forced an overtime shootout. In the first overtime the Stallions struck first with a 32 yard TD strike to grab a quick 61-54 lead. The Chips answered with a 6 yard fake field goal pass to tie the score at 61-61. In the second overtime the big, bad, and blue Stallions drove to a 4 yard QB option TD pass that the Chips were unable to answer when they threw a interception to end the game and give the two time Molson Cup Champion Stallions their 15th victory in 2009 against only 4 losses.

ZFL Veteran Preston Bowling is scheduled to bring his CFL expansion team to Zion National Park this Saturday afternoon, November 14, to face off against the powerful Stallions.

Stoners Score & Smoke Riffian Invitational XXIX Gold!

(Zion National Park, Utah) Tony's Stoners ripped through the 29th annual Riffian Invitational, held on October 24, 2009, as they scored an amazing 208 points in four games and rolled up their 12th Zion Football League title. The Stoners outscored Barb's Ghostriders 52-31 in the championship game to cap off a high-scoring afternoon in which the hot Stoner offense scored 59, 55, 42, and 52 points in four games with outstanding play calling and super cool dice rolling.
Riffian Invitational XXIX showcased not only exciting armchair football, but also a most excellent buffet that was highlighted by Mike's green chili and spanish rice. The Spendove's chicken and beef enchiladas were a crowd favorite as were Helen's deserts. The beautiful fall colors around Mike's cabin in Zion National Park provided an colorful setting for the Zion Football League's oldest and perhaps most prestigious tournament.

Barb's Ghostriders rushed for six touchdowns in their 49-20 semi-final victory over Jim's Gold Miners...The Stoners outscored Helen's Mynx 21-7 in the second half of their semi-final game to win 42-28...Shawn's Assassins threw nine interceptions in a 42-28 loss to the Gold Miners in quarter-final action...Gary's expansion Rebels kicked a 5 yard field goal on the last play of the game to avoid a shut out in a 55-3 loss to the Stoners in the quarter-finals...Mike's Posse missed four out of five field goal attempts in a 34-31 quarter-final loss to the menacin' Mynx...Twelve touchdowns were scored in Shawndoggle's 49-33 win over Kathy's Madame K in the opening round...The Assassins scored on a six yard Halfback Pass to slip past Doug's Parowan 31-28 in a opening round battle...The Stoners threw five touchdowns to out-offense John's Nighthawks 59-35 and knock the Nighties out in the first round...
