Shawn's Assassins Capture Second Straight ZFL Crown, Beat Heat 24-14 in Harvest Bowl VIII!

(Hurricane, Utah)_Recapturing the form, and dice roll, that led his Assassins to the best record in the Zion Football League in 2009, Shawn's Assassins beat Tim's Heat 24-14 in the championship game of Harvest Bowl VIII held at Spendlove Place on November 21. The Assies have won back to back ZFL tournaments and have catapulted into first place in the ZFL's 2010 standings. The Assassins blasted the ZFL's top two teams enroute to the Harvest Crown. In the first round Beau's highriding Cowboys fell to the Assies 37-26 . Shawn then shot down John's Nighthawks 52-20 in the semi-finals to roll into the championship game.

Harvest Bowl hosts Kathy and Doug provided a beautiful Thanksgiving feast along with all the trimmings for the Zion Football League faithful. Turkey was served up along with exciting armchair football at warm and friendly Spendlove Place.

The Hurricane Heat won six straight Harvest Bowl tournament games before falling to the Assassins…In the championship game the Heat's only touchdowns came on a blocked punt return and 45 yard interception return…In semi-final action the Assassins rolled up six touchdowns as they defeathered John's Nighthawks 52-20…In the other semi-final Tim's Heat rose to a 42-9 third quarter lead over Jim's Gold Miners and then hung on to win 42-30…In the first round Beau's Cowboys led the Assies 26-23 at the end of the third quarter… The Cowboys then threw two interceptions in the fourth quarter to fall 37-26…Helen's Mynx scored the only TD of the game in their 17-13 opening round win over Kathy's Madame K...

Spendlove Place Celebrates Harvest Bowl VIII as ZFL Kicks Off Holiday Season!

The Zion Football League is happy to announce that the eighth annual Harvest Bowl will be held on Sunday, November 21, at Spendlove Place in scenic Hurricane. Pregame activities will kick off at 10 am. Kathy and Doug will pull out all the stops and serve up a traditional thanksgiving meal, complete with most excellent trimmings. The ZFL sends out special thanks to all the fans who have generously committed to bring side dishes.

This year's Harvest Bowl will showcase the Zion Football League's overall parity and continuing drama as seven different 2010 ZFL tournament champions will take to the fields of battle. No ZFL team has won two tourney titles this year while traditional powers such as the Posse, Parowan, Gold Miners, Mynx, Madame K, and Gutter Sluts are still seeking their first 2010 ZFL championship.
