Will Nate's Lost Boyz Return to Spendlove Place to Defend Their 2010 Patriot Bowl Championship?

(Hurricane, Utah) Spendlove Place will celebrate the birthday of this great nation of ours when the seventh annual Patriot Bowl will take place on Monday July 4th in the heart the Zion Football League at scenic Spendlove Place. The festivities and tailgating of kick-off promptly at 11 a.m. The famous Spendlove Grill will serve up a holiday festive feast of hamburgers and hot dogs. ZFL fans are asked to bring watermelons, baked beans, potato salad, and other party favors. Nate Bowman captured last year's Patriot Bowl VI when he slammed Beau's cold Cowboys 55-20 in the championship game. The Lost Boyz title run also included victories over Shawn's Assassins (24-21), Tony's Stoners (37-17), and Jim's tough Gold Miners (27-21). However, since that impressive march to the Patriot Bowl title. Nate's Lost Boyz have appeared in only two ZFL tourneys (1-2 record), and have not played in a ZFL tournament in 2011. His Lost Boyz did help in the ZFL All Stars 20-17 overtime win over the Hurricane Heat in last January's Birthday Bowl.

Patriot Bowl Notes
Six ZFL Teams (Posse, Air Nat, Heat, Parowan, Assassins, and Lost Boyz) will vie to become the first franchise to win two Patriot Bowl tournaments…Only Doug's Parowan and Mike's Posse have been to two Patriot title tilts…

Breaking News!
Last weekend Mike's Posse swept a doubleheader of armchair football as they blew past Hall of Famer Ray Carson's renamed Gators. On Saturday Night the Posse broke open a tight 7-3 halftime lead to capture a 28-10 victory. The next night the Posse skinned the Gators 40-9 to send Ray back to Florida with his first ZFL experience in over 25 years.

When Ray was inducted into the ZFL Hall of Fame in 20001 he was known as the Buccaneers. Now a resident of Gainesville, Florida Ray works at the University of Florida and will have to explain to the football crazy Gator Nation how he lost twice in Southern Utah.

Zion Football League Hall of Famer Ray Carson's Buccaneers Invade Zion National Park!

(Zion National Park, Utah) Although Ray Carson's crusty Buccaneers have not played a ZFL tourney game since 1986's Turkey Bowl, they will sail into one of the toughest venues in Utah when they visit Posse Pavilion inside Zion National Park on the weekend of June 25-26 to battle Mike's Posse.

The Buccaneers were a powerful team in the early days of the ZFL in Salt Lake in the 1980's. Ray's Buccaneers won the 1981 Riffian Invitational IV, beating Mike's Riffs 70-62 in the championship game. The Buccaneers also inflicted pain on Mike when they won a wild 24-17 victory over the Riffians to capture 1982's Birthday Bowl V. During his ZFL career Ray won two ZFL tournaments and finished in second place in four others. The Buccaneers currently are in 22nd place in the all-time ZFL tournament standings and were inducted into the Zion Football League Hall of Fame at halftime of Birthday Bowl XXIV in 2001.

Tim's Hosers Win First CFL Crown, Shut Down Mike's Stallions 36-27 in Molson Cup X Championship Game!

(Zion National Park, Utah)Returning to the scene of his recent Zion Bowl glory, Tim Spendlove took his dice rolling skills north of the ZFL border and captured his first Canadian armchair football title when his Hosers stumped Mike's Stallions by the score of 36-27 in Molson Cup X. Not only did the Hosers outscore all their CFL tourney opponents, they held the mighty Stallion offense to a single major in the second half of the championship game.

Since losing 20-17 in overtime to Beau's ZFL All Stars in January's Birthday Bowl XXIV coach Tim has gone undefeated in ZFL/CFL tourney play. Tim missed the Southern Utah Championship at Dixie Downs in February but has since then won two armchair tournaments inside Zion National Park, including the prestigious Zion Bowl XXVII in April.

Mike's green chili and spanish rice set the stage for a fun day of good food, great friends, and exciting Canadian armchair football action beneath the cliffs of Zion.
