Jim's Gold Miners Looking to Defend Their East Virgin Invitational Crown in Wild & Wooly Virgin!

(Virgin, Utah)_The Zion Football League is proud to announce that the second annual East Virgin Invitational tournament will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2009. Susie and Shawn will host this eastern Washington County festival for the second straight year with fun activities kicking off at 10 am. Shawn will be making his famous Jambalaya to kick off the food fest, and everyone is asked pitch in on the potluck. Please remember to bring folding chairs and foldout tables if you have them. Shawn and Susie invite your tourney questions at the East Virgin Hotline, 635-4152.
Jim Cantrell's Gold Miners won last year's East Virgin Invitational winning four close games against the Blue Devils (24-15), Madame K (39-36 OT), Assassins (28-21), and in the final game Barb's Ghostriders (28-19). Jim and his high scoring offense are again looking to rule in East Virgin.
ZFL Notes
Shawn's Assassins are dominating the Zion Football League standings in 2009 with an outstanding 13 win 3 loss record... The Assies have been to three ZFL championship games this year, winning two before John Denney's Nighthawks edged them 33-26 at Oak Grove in the Southern Utah Classic last month...Those hot Nighthawks are enjoying their best ZFL season ever with a 7 win 4 loss ZFL tournament record...The Gold Miners have struggled to a 4 win 9 loss record in ZFL tournaments since winning last year's East Virgin Invitational....According to Sarah Large, Posse Coach Mike Large will become a grandfather next spring...

**NEWSFLASH**

It has just been reported that Preston's Blue Devils will not be making the journey down to this months ZFL tournament. There has been no contact with the inconsistent, yet, best looking coach in the Zion Football League but sources close to him report without his arrival the rest of the league will find the tournament much easier to win.

A. Nonymous reporting for ZFL News... Utah!
