Zion National Park's Centennial Celebrations Continue with Historic Riffian Invitational XXIX

The first Riffian Invitational was held in Salt Lake City in 1978, which also was the first ZFL tournament held in the state of Utah. Up to that time the only other ZFL tournament ever held was the Barstow City Championship in 1976, which was won by Mike's original ZFL team, the Riffians. Through the years the Riffian Invitational has been the engine that has fueled the steady growth of the Zion Football League, showcasing the best fans, players, food, fun, and exciting armchair football action throughout Utah. This tournament is named in honor of the Riffians, fierce Berber warriors who would cut out your tongue for calling them Arabs. Mike took the name of this Barstow High mascot as the name of his founding ZFL team in 1976.

Hopefully the Posse's offense will as hot as coach Mike's green chili.
