Hot Hurricane Awaits Patriot Bowl VI!

(Hurricane, Utah)_The Zion Football League is happy to announce that Patriot Bowl VI will be held at the ZFL's most hallowed ground, Spendlove Place, in road construction challenged Hurricane on Sunday July 4th, 2010.
For the sixth straight year the Spendlove Family will open up their home to the unruly fans and teams of the ZFL to celebrate the birthday of the United States of America. The world famous Spendlove Grill will provide a festivis of hot dogs and burgers to feed the hungry masses. ZFL Fans are asked to bring deserts, salads, and their other great treats to party on, and help celebrate the 234th birthday of our great nation. Kick off is at 10 am.

Tony's Toronto Tweakers Roll in Zion National Park and Win Their First Molson Cup Since 2005!

(Zion National Park, Utah)_Tony Iverson's Toronto Tweakers got a little higher in the Zion Football League's Canadian Football record book on June 5th as they blasted Barb's high scoring Chippewa 37-22 in the championship game of the ninth annual Molson Cup tournament. By capturing their third Molson Cup championship the Tweakers leapfogged over Doug's fading Thunder for undisputed second place in all-time CFL armchair tourney history. Tony's Tweaks started their historic title run with a thrilling 51-46 win over Helen's Frogs in the opening round and then shot down John's Gulls 42-21 to advance to the title game.
Molson Cup IX was held at Mike's stylish cabin in Zion National Park and featured an excellent buffet highlighted by Mike's spaghetti and meatballs. This year's Molson Cup tournament featured nine teams for only the second time in CFL armchair football history.

Molson Cup Notes
The mighty Toronto Tweakers led the hapless Chippewa 34-15 late in the fourth quarter of the championship game before calling off the dogs…The Chips rolled big dice in their first two tourney games, including a 61-31 victory over Jim's Gold Miners and a 51-21 clapping of Doug's distant Thunder…In semi-final action, John's Gulls led the terrible Tweaks 21-20 in the middle of the third quarter before falling 42-21….In the opening round, Helen's French Frogs threw a 91 yard TD strike to capture a 46-42 lead over the whiskey swilling Tweakers with five plays left in the game…The Tweaks then launched a 47 yard TD bomb and followed up with a Safety to cut up the Frogs 51-46…Shawn's Assassins were assayed 55-28 by the Gold Miners in the quarter-finals… Preston's 2010 CFL Zion Cup Champion Canadian Pimp Wagon threw seven interceptions in their first round 37-24 loss to the Assies…John's Gulls stunned the Molson Cup crowd with a shocking 41-38 overtime win over Mike's two-timin' Molson Cup defending champion Stallions in the opening round…
