ZFL Hosts Televised Grey Cup Festivus in Zion Park!

(Zion National Park, Utah)
As bright sunshine warmed scenic Oak Creek Canyon on November 27th, a line up of ZFL coaches gathered to celebrate the great game of Canadian Football, watching a live satellite feed of the 99th Grey Cup from Vancouver, British Columbia. ZFL coaches Tony (Tweakers), David (Tundra), Mike (Stallions), and Doug (Thunder) partied and enjoyed great meatballs for over 4 hours while watching the British Columbia Lions leap past the Winnipeg Blue Bombers by the score of 34-23.

Kathy won the Grey Cup "office pool" taking home a cool fifty dollars (US). The British Columbia Lions began the CFL season at 0-5, yet won 12 out of their next 13 games to capture Canada's most prestigious sports event.

The Zion Football League also announced that Zion Cup III, the league's annual Canadian Rules winter tournament, will be held at Mike's cabin in Zion National Park on Saturday January 7th rain or shine.

Stallions Sweep CFL Doubleheader Over Tweakers and Tundra!

(Zion National Park, Utah)_On a cold and breezy mid November night, David's Tundra and Tony's Toronto Tweakers came calling to Stallion Stadium - home of Mike's CFL super Stallions.

In the opening game the Stallions threw seven touchdown passes to melt the Tundra 80-44. Going down swinging, David threw a 97 yard TD strike on the last play of the game. The Stallions rolled up 30 first downs in the offensive rout.

In the armchair football nightcap Tony's Toronto Tweakers bolted out to a stunning 35-21 early third quarter lead. The Stallion's big, bad and blue offense then came to life scoring five touchdowns, including an 11 yard TD Double Reverse with six plays left to detox the Tweaks 56-49.

The Stallions now own a record of 10 wins and 4 losses in 2011. The Stallion double header sweep is perhaps a preview of things to come when Zion Cup III is held on January 7, 2012 at Mike's cabin inside frozen Zion National Park.

Cowboys Capture Harvest Bowl IX!

(Hurricane, Utah) Stunning the experts and throwing a monkey wrench into the 2011 ZFL standings, Beau's Cowboys won three tough tourney games then found Nate's Lost Boyz 45-29 in the title tilt to capture Harvest Bowl IX, held at scenic Spendlove Place on November 6th.

Kathie and Doug provided ZFL teams and fans with warm and healthy vegetable chili and breadsticks and once again opened their friendly home to kick-off the holiday season.

Beau's ride to ZFL glory stopped Tim's Hurricane Heat and Mike's Posse from capturing outright the claim as the ZFL's best tournament team in 2011. That will be decided next month at Holiday Bowl XX in St. George on Sunday December 18th.
