Southern Utah Classic I Assassinated!

(St. George, Utah)_The JTP Dome, the fashionable home of those young St. George studs - Justin, Tim and Preston - was a great venue for the ZFL's newest tournament -The Southern Utah Classic I held on Tuesday August 14. Shawn took a likin' to the downtown digs and led his Assassins
to their first ever ZFL Tournament Championship. The Assassins won a thrilling contest in the championship game, rallying from a 19-0 deficit to shock Helen's Mynx 28-26. In semi-final action, coach Shawn led his defense to a last minute goal line stand as the Assassins took out Posse 27-21. Shawn's good tournament play highlighted a great ZFL tournament that featured 6 games decided by a touchdown or less.

Southern Utah Classic Notes_Shawn's Assassins entered the Southern Utah Classic on a 7 ZFL tournament game losing streak...Helen's Mynx stumped Jim Cantrell's high scoring Gold Miners in a classic game, winning 17-14 in the semi-finals...Preston's Blue Devils lost their 8th straight ZFL tournament game, 14-13, when Beau's Cowboys scored on a 8 yard Swing Pass with 2 plays left, in opening round action...John Denney's Nighthawks remain a front runner for ZFL Rookie of the Year despite their 35-27 loss to Doug's Parowan Rams...Justin Hodge's Kaibab Mountain Cows lost to Barb's Ghostriders 49-32 in the opening round of Southern Utah I, then out-scored the Ghostriders 41-30 later in the day to win the 3rd Place game of Patriot Bowl III...Mike's Posse forced 4 second half fumbles, then drove to the 17 yard line, before falling to the Assassins 27-21 in the semi-finals...Tony's Stoners stopped The Heat's 7 tournament game winning streak with a 28-16 win in the opening round...

Re: Spendlove Dynasty. First the Rams, then the Heat. This has got to come to and end. I suspect that " the dynasty " has run it's course finally and it's time for some of the previous champions to return to form. I believe the cowboys revamped defense actually won a game last tournament. Hmmm.. could they be the ones to return to glory?

Say Hey Cowboys,
Yer exactly right! This Spendlove dysfunctional dynasty has to stop. The "Spentloves" are so weak that tix them they can't even post a single message on the ZFL website lately recently...maybe all that ZFL glory has dulled their collective consciencnous'.

Coming soon...Riffian Invitational XXVII in October!

If I might submit a bit of personal philosophy, I feel that the Spendlove family has dominated the Zion Football League as stumbling, demented, child-kings long enough!!! And as their empire crumbles, my precious
Posse will rise as their most fitting successor!!!

A Riffian Invational is exactly what we need to dethrone these Spentloves. "They have run their course and will fall to the wayside as superior forces of the good and righteous belay their might might upon the arrogant and wicked." (General George S. Patton) Season Ticket Holder: ZFL Cowboys
