John's High Flying Nighthawks Capture East Virgin Invitational III!

(Hurricane, Utah) Throughout the years John's Nighthawks and Beau's Cowboys have battled in many Zion Football League tournament contests. Their ZFL rivalry peaked on September 19th when these two ZFL powers clashed for armchair football glory when they both fought their way into the championship game of the relocated East Virgin Invitational. The title tilt started out as a defensive struggle as the Nighthawks and the Cowboys battled to a 14-14 halftime tie. The powerful Nighthawk dice then rolled for four rushing touchdowns to break open the game, handing coach John his second Zion Football League Crown.

Once again the Spendlove family opened their home as the East Virgin Invitational was relocated from Virgin on short notice. The Spendloves provided lots of great food and football fun times for the ZFL faithful. Thanks from the ZFL!

East Virgin Invitational Notes - Beau's Cowboys stunned three Spendlove teams on their way to the championship …The Cowboys trailed Kathy's Madame K 16-10 early in the fourth quarter of their semi-final contest, before rallying to a 20-16 victory…Helen's menacin' Mynx returned a blocked punt for a touchdown late in the third quarter to pull to within 20-14 of the Nighthawks in the other semi-final…The Mighty 'hawks then shut down the Mynx and rolled to a 27-14 win…Madame K roared out to a 26-0 led over Preston's Blue Devils and then hung on to win a squeaker 33-31…

***Breaking News*** Kowen Mitchell Simon bounced into the life of coach Katie Spendlove on September 21. Kowen weighed in at 8 pounds and 11 ounces. Mama and baby are doing fine.
