Zion Football League Kicks Off 2011 Season with CFL Zion Cup II on January 2nd!

(Zion National Park, Utah) When Zion Cup II takes place in Zion Park on January 2nd all eyes will be on Mike's Stallions, who went winless in 2010 CFL tournaments. Going into 2010 the Stallions were two-timin' Molson Cup Champions before getting bounced in back to back CFL tourneys. Preston's Canadian Pimp Wagon won last year's Zion Cup when they blitzed Shawn's Assassins 59-42 in the championship game. Tony's Toronto Tweakers are the defending Molson Cup Champs and should also be considered a CFL contender.

Mike will serve a feast of spaghetti and meatballs. Doug is bringing french bread and a ton of parmesan cheese. Shawn and Sharon are making a green salad and Helen is bringing her famous stuffed jalapenos. Activities and pre-game fun kicks off at 11:00 am.

Parowan Captures Holiday Bowl XIX, Assassins Finish First in Zion Football League 2010 Standings!

(St. George, Utah)_Returning to their championship form of yesteryear, Doug's Zion Football League Parowan Football Team rose from the depths of the 2010 standings to capture the prestigious Holiday Bowl on December 19th in St. George, Utah. Parowan Coach Doug Spendlove beat his children Tim (Heat), and Katie (Gutter Sluts), before arresting Kellie's Criminals in the Holiday Bowl XIX championship game. By winning their seventh ZFL Crown, Parowan rose to seventh place in the final 2010 ZFL standings. The Parowan championship allowed Shawn's Assassins to finish in first place in the Zion Football League standings for the second straight year.

Holiday Bowl XIX was a most festive celebration, thanks in large part to the Fisher Nation who opened their warm and beautifully decorated home and presented a Christmas feast. Santa's helper Jen presented the Zion Football League with a year's worth of supplies to help with publications. Parowan Coach Doug was presented with a statue of his favorite Falcon player and dog breeder, Mickey Vick.

Assassins Seek to Defend Holiday Bowl Crown and Become ZFL's Best Team for Second Straight Year!

(St George, Utah)_The Zion Football League is happy to announce that the 19th annual Holiday Bowl will be held on Sunday, December 19, at Beau & O's sweet home in St. George, Utah. Beau and Candi will offer up a holiday feast featuring barbeque beef and pork. Other excellent treats from throughout the ZFL will also grace the festive feast. Beau's "North Pole" has even been erected as the Fisher Nation pulls out all the stops for the ZFL holiday treat. Holiday Bowl XIX will kick off at 10 am local Saint George time.

The winner of this year's Holiday Bowl has an excellent chance of capturing the league's best tournament record and earning the title of 2010's best ZFL team. Due to the overall balance in the ZFL this year, the league's standings show that seven different ZFL teams could finish in first place (or tied). Should Shawn's Assassins win their third straight tourney, they will vault to the top of the ZFL. However, should the Assies lose then the possibilities boggle the mind. Five other ZFL powerhouses (Cowboys, Heat, Nighthawks, Stoners, and Blue Devils) could finish first, depending on how other ZFL teams place in the tourney.

The Zion Football League has never experienced a year where so many teams were in contention for first place this late in the year. That doesn't even factor in the possibilties of ZFL superpowers like the Gold Miners, Parowan, Mynx, or Posse sneeking in and taking the title, and setting the ZFL standings on their head. Whatever the result, the Zion Football League thanks all of it's great teams, coaches, and fans for a great and fun 2010 season!

Holiday Bowl Notes
Shawn's Assassins won last year's Holiday Bowl with a 50-7 detoxing of Tony's Stoners in the title tilt…The largest Zion Football League tournament ever held, 18 teams, was captured by Mike's Posse in 2008's Holiday Bowl XVII…

Canada's CFL Grey Cup Classic Televised and Celebrated in Zion National Park!

(Zion National Park, Utah)_As a major winter snowstorm swept into the canyons of Zion on November 28th, a gathering of Zion Football League coaches celebrated the great game of Canadian football while watching a live satellite feed of the 98th Grey Cup from Edmonton, Alberta inside Mike's warm cabin. ZFL coaches Tony (Tweakers), David (Tundra), Doug (Thunder), Shawn (Assassins), and their host Mike (Stallions) partied and enjoyed great food for over four hours while watching Anthony Calvillo's Alouettes play a most excellent defense and defeat the mighty Saskatchewan Roughriders 21-18.

The winter conditions outside Mike's cabin and the friendly partying inside would have made Canadians proud as the historic Grey Cup was celebrated inside Zion National Park.
