Spendloves Sack Zion Football League All Stars 19-14 in Birthday Bowl XXXI!

(Hurricane, Utah)_In one of the most exciting Birthday Bowls ever played, Preston scored a 5 yard fake field goal TD pass with two plays left in the game, to give the Spendlove All Stars a heartstopping 19-14 win over the ZFL All Stars in Birthday Bowl XXXI held at Spendlove Place on January 19th.
The game was a low scoring affair with neither all-star team able to move the football early. Only Shawn's 44 yard TD long pass with two plays left in the first half gave his team a 7-0 lead. Katie Spendlove kicked a 22 yard field goal to extend the Spendlove lead to 10-0 at the end of the third quarter. Things looked bleak for the Zion Football League All Stars until Beau "Romo" Fisher launched a 49 yard touchdown strike early in the fourth quarter to pull them within 10-7. Following a ZFL All Star blocking of a Spendlove punt, Mike struck quickly with a 41 yard long pass to give the ZFL All Stars a 14-10 lead with 14 plays left in the game. As the Spendlove mob grew quiet, Shawn took reins of the offense and led the Spendlove Stars downfield. Then, out of nowhere, Preston appeared and led his family to the promised land, scoring on a 4th down 5 yard fake field goal pass for a TD that gave the Spendloves an insurmountable 17-14 lead. Beau was sacked in the ZFL All Star endzone on the final play of the game for a Safety to give the Spendlove's a final hard fought 19-14 win in Birthday Bowl XXXI.

I'm sorry. I missed the first coming of Satan. Was it Cortez, Hiter, or Britney Spears?

By the way, Congratulations to Doug Spendlove. A well earned entry into the ZFL Hall of Fame.
