Mike's Stallions Edge Doug's Thunder 41-33 in Molson Cup VII Canadian Football Championship Game!

Molson Cup VII was the largest CFL tournament ever held - nine teams. Tim Spendlove and John Denney both made their CFL debuts playing against each other, in an opening game that kick-started a great tournament gathering that featured exciting Canadian games, good food, and fabulous friends.

first-time CFL game played by these two ZFL Veterans was won by the Gulls 33-22...Shawn's Assassins threw five touchdown passes in their 35-20 victory over Helen's Frogs in quarter final action...Barb rolled a 91 yard Touchdown Interception Return, giving her a big lead that Tony's Tweaks could not overcome in a 38-23 Chippewa win...The Stallions 74 points scored against the Gulls is the most ever tallied by a single team in a Molson Cup tournament game...The previous record was held by Denise Taylor's Eskimos, who scored 73 points against the Thunder in 2003...showing true grit, John's CFL expansion Gulls scored on a 110 yard TD Kick Return against Mike's Stallions in that 74-35 loss...The Thunder blasted the Molson Cup record book with his 110 yard TD Kick Return against the Chippewa...Doug's Thunder also had a 110 yard TD Punt Return in that semi-final contest...Jim's Gold Miners led the Thunder 29-28 with 15 plays left in their quarter-final game, before Doug kicked through two Rouge's (Singles) to escape with a exciting 30-29 win.
